power backup

just thought i would share this with everyone. its not the beefiest power backup, but what is nice about it is that you can recharge it using you plug in the car. if you get caught without power for a few days, you can recharge it unlike many other options. i can think of plenty of other uses for this as well, but thought i would share

if this interests you look up 'inverter' they can be run off 12v lead acid car batteries.

the more batteries the longer it will run.

for long term or big loads it is hard to beat a diesel geni.

yeah i googled power inverters and some out there are pretty reasonable

I know people that have used an inverter to keep tanks going when the power was out. Wurm ran his car for a day or 2 to keep fish alive IIRC.

what would be pretty sweet would be to somehow recharge the inverter/backup with the water flow from the filters..... like a hydroelectric dam!
