Canada... i wish.
hey everyone... i posted a thread about starting a new 55 gallon tank. but today i bought a 84 gal long tank instead. and i was wondering what is the best type of filtration i can use? i have a power filter in my old tank, but i kinda want to switch to a cansiter filter. any suggestions?

I would say for canisters I would go with either a Fluval 404 or a Eheim 2217 and pair it up with a AquaClear 110. That will give you some really good filtration also it is best to have atleast 2 filters on the tank just encase one breaks down.

just build a sump much cheaper

DIY wet/drys are good but I think a little over kill for a 84gal.

Try the Rena xP3 filstar. I have the Rena xP4 filstar in my 150g and its clear. Very good filter i think. One of the best.

Also, what kind of fish are you kepping? if your keeping "heavy-poopers" like oscars, then the Rena xP3 filstar should be all right.

i use 2 magnum 250 canister filters with micron cartridges on my 150. not expensive and the cartridges have cleaning instructions so you never have to buy new ones
