Power Filter question

Just got a large Aqua Clear power filter to supplement my Os current water filtration.
Question is that it came off a saltwater tank and has alot of biological media... now using this for freshwater, will all the bacteria die and then need to re-colinize?
Wsn't sure if the bacteria for FW was similiar to SW bacteria.

lolz i think u must talked about a AC110??? whatever come with the filter .its going to the filter..u can take the chemical out if u want but bio and mechanical is need to go with the filter

if i was unsure like you then i would replace or wash the media. if your at all unsure then why risk it when you have filtration running, its not like your in a hurry. that may just be me as im quite a cautious person when it comes to my fish.
wash it and let it mature. it wont take long as your tank is already established. give it a week running on your tank after cleaning and it will most likely become a working filter.
