power filters on larger aquariums

If you were to use all power filters on a 180 lets say three aqua clear 110 would that be enough filitration

Depending on the fish content of the 180, yes 3 AC101's can be ok.........For example, if the tank was filled with plants, and only plants, the 3 101's would make the bill.............I actually used 3 101's on my 9 foot 180 at one time.............I planned on adding a DIY wet/dry filter.....................I currently use 2 101's and DIY wet/dry on my 125g................Do 50% water changes evry week..............

well my current stock list includes 5 alfari ranging in size from 3 to 5 inches, 2 argentena one at 10 inches and another at 3 inches, growing at 6 lysoni there real small like 2 inches and growing out some istalums 6 aswell same size

absolutely. just keep up with the water changes. 2x50% should fit the bill

yes. i do two 50% changes and one 20% change on all my tanks per week.

If the turnover rate with the filtration system is around 5-6 per hour, you should be good.
Water changes.

You get around 5x turnover with three aquaclear 110's. In my opinion I would aim for more turnover if you use HOBs only. But you should be ok.
