I have a standard 90 gallon tank that is stocked with Central American cichlids. I’m running (2) Penn Plax Cascade 1000 canister filters.
Would it be beneficial to add a power head or would it be too much flow for the the fish and not really benefit the fish?
Also, on a separate note. On the canister filters, I am using a spray bar (angles towards water surface) on 1 of the outtakes, and a spray nozzle on the other. Would the turn over rate of the filter be better if using the spray nozzle opposed to the spray bar? Basically, I’m just curious if it would be beneficial to switch the spray bar with a nozzle and point that towards the surface, to still get water agitation?
Any thoughts and comments are appreciated!
