I am new to powerheads and I just got one for my piranha tank. My question is, does the constant water being shot at one side of the tank weaken the glass or seal over time? Am I just worrying too much or does it matter. I have a 55 gallon and a 120 gallon tall.

Unless your powerhead is actually an outboard motor shoved into your tank I wouldn't begin to worry about it :D

The only thing I could think of is if your seals were already starting to peel... having something "blowing" water on them would make them worse. But it would only be contributing to an existing problem.

Shouldn't hurt a good tank setup.

Okay, thanks guys ;)

Great idea! I'm going to use my trolling motor as a powerhead! 36lbs of thrust!
