i was just wondering if u could save time in water changes by connecting a tube to a powerhead and drain the water? and put a little fliter thingy like of a fosset except gaps a little bigger and clean the gravle too!
You could use a pump to drain water. I use a sump pump to a 2" hose to drain my large tanks. But, I wouldn't try gravel washing with a pump inline. The increased flow will pull the gravel through the line unless the head pipe was extremely wide.
I have 500 gph. submersible pump connected to pvc pipe that can be connected to a water hose for ultra fast water changes. I also can hook a gravel cleaning tube to the water hose to clean gravel. I can't use a python because of my lower water pressure. This method is much faster anyway.
