I'm thinking about putting something in my 55 gallon to push flowerhorn poop towards the filter but am unclear as to how much current, where to place it or a good brand to buy. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

in the affordable range i like these aquatop brand ones...

the aquaclear is nice too, little more pricey

the others ive had trouble with

you can add a round sponge to the intake to collect more poo, place on either end. or place to blow where the poo is collecting

Good price, adjustable output, very wide current, can point it just about any direction. Gives a lot of circulation.

I'm very limited as far as brand selection. Only the big stores carry more than one brand. I bought the marineland power jet 400 based on reviews and it was on sale. I'll keep you posted. I'm going to redo the aquascape for Elvis and redo the lighting because the sorry fluval light I foolishly bought can't illuminate the bottom. Again the only one available at the time and I'm impatient.

Don't get one with too much flow or get one with adjustable flow. Some flowerhorn don't do well with high flow. I think because of being kept in tiny space with a sponge filter before selling.

I can. But I want it NOW! Also, the last 3 times I ordered through Amazon are as follows; 1. Aqua clear filter arrived late with smashed part. 2. Glass tank lid arrived late and smashed into oblivion. Have to return it to ups wrapped in garbage bags to avoid glass shards. 3. Nicrew aquarium light arrived late with no power adapter and smashed corner. Replacement arriving TODAY after a month. I live in Ocean county, NJ. Petco/smart about the best available walk in stores I know of.
