Do Oscars Like Powerheads?

i don't think they'd mind too much but oscars naturally claim calm waters

i agree i would just have the powerhead creating more surface aggitation than current this will help keep your tank all clean like...........

I have 1 powerhead in my 180gal which houses 2 Oscars and i have placed my powerhead near the surface i have it in there mainly to add disolved oxygen into the tank both my oscars don't seem to mind it been there !

i agree and always have internal powerfilters or powerheads in all my tanks and use then near the surface.
i dont think the oscar will mind either way really

note: caution........... post / reply only .....

how big are the oscars?.. I had a PH402 in my Fire Belly P tank and the problem was that the one of the FBP was sucked in the intake valve. Good thing I cought it before my P got killed.
