Hi my power went out due to a storm and I'm wondering on what I should do for my aquariums in terms of filtration and the media? Thanks in advance!

Generator is best option, or battery operated pump for air, watch temperature closely.

If you have hob filter occasionally pour water over media to help give oxygen, and keep media wet.

Above suggestions good, I'm cheap and don't have battery powered pumps so I splash the water in my tanks every 30 mins or so, haven't lost a fish yet during power outs.

I'm not being snarky, I'm dead serious with this.

Get a used generator.

When I was living in the midwest and power outages were a fact of life thanks to both supercell thunderstorms and blizzards, I went to the pawn shop and picked up a 5000w generator for $300 bucks. I only had to use it a time or two, but it had more than enough juice to keep my tanks, my fridge and my freezer running. IMO, they're a must-have for any serious hobbyist!
