Hi there everyone,

I haven't posted in a while...everything was healthy and happy...then power outage last week for 3.5 days. I ran the tank(185gal) 11 rbp's, for 13 hours, (put in over 300 hand warmers in zip locks to keep temp up...then had to leave for fear of hypothermia (toes started to turn purple)...came back the next day 2x's to change water...wrapped the tank in 3 thermal blankets and prayed, next day same routine... power came back on the next day...phew...now...

Wed- upped temp slowly;changed all filter media; kept sponge filter in. no feeding
Thurs- water change(30%); behavior normal
Friday- small feeding of frozen cubed mysis.
Sat- am noticed tearing on one 6''rbp...like skin was peeling off; dosed with pimafix and salt after 30% water change.
Sun- moved 6''rbp to hospital tank (wound turned to exposed red) dosed with maroxy...(top fin splitting another exposed flesh like wound appears) ; dosed with pimafix. (small feeding of mysis cubes)
Mon- 6'' in hospital tank stabalizing/ 2 in 185 signs of rot? Water change 30%

Question: Do I up the water changes? I have not fed the group since Sunday... all filter media is just plain no carbon because of meds.... I'm scared if I make a wrong move I will lose all of them...

Water parameters:
Nitrate: 10
Nitrite : 0
Chlorine:0
Ammonia: High! 4.0
Ph:6.0
Alkalinity: - not even registering....?
H20-hard

Any advice would be helpful... picture isn't that great...trying to get video up in a few minutes
Thanks,

Missy

did you replace ALL your bio media in filter as well??? should've kept them. now you are having a mini cycle as there's not enough beneficial bacterias to convert ammonia to nitrate and from your reading I don't see any bacterias converting nitrate to nitrite.

Keep up with water changes (treated water) to keep ammonia down, in the mean while see if you can get some established media from friends or lfs if not then get a large bottle of stress zyme or some similar product you can find that contains life bacterias and dose the tank.

I kept a huge enheim sponge filter in the tank...for bb(125 gallon capacity)...I will get some reestablished media from lfs...nice to see you too! They were doing so great...had 3 spawning attempts and everything before this all went down...:(

you were pretty well prepared though. This from past experience or just research before it all went down?

No, did this all on the fly! Power outages have never been a problem in 4 years...pulling the plug on the generator at 2am was hard to do...but it was me or them...left them to the fish gods...

pretty impressive on the fly thinking. ok, i'll stop derailing and let the expert help you. haha

Missy, how are your fish doing? any update
