So on my 125 I have two power strips running on two different circuits for it. Now during a prolonged outage I can only run one of the circuits with my generator due to other things I have to power. So which one would you run, the strip that has the two aquaclear 110s and a 250w heater or the other circuit that has the FX-6, 250w heater and small powerhead.

Forget the generator all you need is a battery powered air sponge filter. It will turn on automatically when the power is out. If its prolonged even a week god forbid your fish will still be fine. Just insert new batteries if they die out.

Basically is an air pump but has batteries in them so when the power source is gone it will use the batteries. I would suggest putting it in your tank at all times if your prone to battery outages or just want it for safety. I do this in my tank. I lost thousands of dollars worth of fish due to a power outage. I wasn't home at work and yeah...

the fx5 one with the 250 watt and circulation fan. Switch the other heater over and make sure the fx5 and fan are creating surface agitation

I vote ac110's and heater. no need to deal with re-aligning a powerhead and fx5 to make surface agitation that way.

I can't run both heater on one extension with the generator it will pop the circuit on the outlet of the generator. Along with this tank I have to run a sump pump and a refrigerator plus a deep freeze. Then I still have my grow out tanks in the basement which I can run 2 of the 55 down there. I got it all figured out so it works for the generator which is a 5500W with a 6500W surge. Was just wondering about the 125 upstairs, I'm leaning towards the two 110s myself just wanted others opinions. One 250w heater will pretty much maintain the tank with about a slow 1 degree drop every couple of hours if it's pretty cold outside. Otherwise one will work but it will be on nonstop.

Battery operated air pump is a great idea. I use one when I pickup fishes when I need extended periods of time to get back. Oxygen is critical...especially in well stocked tanks.
