My power went out about 30 mins ago. I have a 29g tank with 2 cons. Will they be ok without any water circulation? What should I do?

Go to your LFS and buy an battery air pump if you worries about water movement.

Will this be out for awhile(overnight/longer)? I'm assuming you don't have a battery powered air pump. If not get one next time just in case this happens again.

Personally my 125 was out for 24 hours before with a moderate stocked tank any noone died or anything. 2 Convicts, unless their big should be fine in a 29 for quite awhile. If the power will be out for more than 24 hours invest in a battery powered air pump at a min but if less than 12 hours they will be fine.

If they'll be ok til morning then I can go and buy a generator I want anyway. I went to wal mart once the power went out but the power was out there too. Whole town is down. Thanks for your help!

Yeah they will be fine, just check once filters get back online that a mini cycle doesn't break out. i have a back up UPS, but a generator would be tight!

my aunt had 4 blood parrots in a 50g when katrina hit, she lives in gulf port, she still has one:naughty:

fish can survive crazy ****, if your worried about it get a battery powered air pump

last winter mine was out for 10 days. I never lost a fish until the 3rd day when i noticed that the water temps were down in the 50'S:eek:.

So i would say that as long as its not cold where you are then you will be fine for a couple days.

just watch for the mini cycle when you fire back up like mentioned.

Anyone have links to reliable battery powered air pumps?
