so is there anyone else here experiencing power outages? ive had about 15 the last 2 weeks. somedays none somedays 3 or 4. today we had a 'scheduled' power outage for maintenance. from 8 till 3 pm. its now 545 and power still not on. i dont care about anything but my fish. i have alot of pumps, filters, blowers, canisters.... i dont mind losing all the food in my fridge and durring a normal 2-4 hour outage i dont worry about my tanks. after that i start stressing a lil bit. ok alot! my generator is on vacation right now. im gonna buy another one dedicated to the fishroom. but even if i have my generator ready to go, if im at work how am i supposed to hook it up? i know theres nothing i can do as far as the electric company. just wanna here other peoples whoas about electricity. dont you think if they cause a power outage, they should pay for damages? fish, filter motors burning out cause they ran all day and couldnt prime. im erked!

A few years ago I was getting numerous power outages. After getting no results from PSE&G (my electric company), I called the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and filed a complaint. The problem was rectified in a couple of days. Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the most grease. Worth a try unless the outages are widespread and caused by too much electrical usage.

I feel you! I have a friend, who recently lost everything in his tank due to power outage when he was on vacation. Call your electric company (Edison). They need to make sure their contractor works within the agreed time, or call your city public works department. It should be 9am-3pm (or 2pm in some area) unless it's emergency work due to weather
