My water pressure is low and it takes me forever to drain my tanks with my python. I want to build a system with a pump to drain my tanks. I will refill them with the pyton but it would really speed things up. Does anyone have any ideas?

if that is too low tech - then another suggestion:

- put a submersible pump into your tank, and hide it with plants/decor
- black pvc up from pump to top of tank - with a hose adapter on end
- switch on the pump power cord
- connect hose, and turn on power whenever doing water changes

On the line from my sump to tank run by a mag drive 12, I've added a T with PVC pipe that leads to the laundry tubs. When I want to drain the tank, I just partially close the valve to the tank, and 50% of the water is sent straight to the laundry tub, (or in summer, the garden). Drains @ 30gallons in @ 5 minutes.

My syphon tube is the largest flexible plastic tubing you can buy at Home Depot. Not sure about the diameter but the tube is about 4 inches across! It empties out about 100 gallons in 5-10 minutes. Thou be careful the suction alone is very powerful and will suck up anything in its pathway, kinda like this girl I know...lol

I was thinking of using a pump like on my W/D and leave it outside the tanks so I can put one end in the tank and hook the other to an outside drain. How does that sound?
