powerhead 802

I got this used powerhead 802 with a used tank I got. I am putting it in a 75 gallon to for more water circulation, and I have no idea how to use it.
Do I need to put a airline up to it or not?
Is this powerhead fully submersible? I mean at the top of the powerhead has a cord coming out of it can i put that under water or not

It has to be submerged to function properly. You do not need to hook the airline to it unless you want it to spew bubbles (optional) The cord is no issue as it is water tight. I personnaly love that powerhead, very strong. You may not like it in a 75g as it may be a little too strong but to each his own. GL...
