I have an Aquaclear 802 powerhead in my 55 gallon that I *used* to have my 7" p. senegalus in.. that is until I woke up one morning to find my poor guy sucked into the bottom of the powerhead head first

i lost an orange fin loach t oa power head, it had that cone shape attachment you put in an undergravel filter port, dam thing thought it was a hiding place, i noticed one was missing one day, and i saw alittle bit of tail sticking out so i took it out and my loach had both eyes sucked out if its head, it was dead of coarse.

should've added a sponge or a prefilter on that powerhead.

sorry to hear that dude.

I know, I guess I under estimated the strength of the powerhead and over estimated my fishes

sorry to hear about your loss... lost a fish or 2 the same way before in the past. :(

Yea it was a sad day! I had lost a couple raphael cats the same way a few months before but they were small so I wasnt worried about the Bichir... but I was wrong :wall: :wall:

I have lost a Fire Eel before when the idiot jumped INSIDE an Aqua Clear filter and got into the impeller. That bastard would try to get into tinniest spaces. :shakehead

I have also lost a spiny eel that way, lots of fish will try to swim with the flow. I was relying on the little plastic sieve on the intake to keep out the fish but my pleco jostled it off.
