I just got a cap 1200 from Kens. It's labeled as 550gph on his site and on the box(pic 1), but if you look closely at the blurry 2nd pic, it says l/hr: 1000, which is roughly half of that. This is my first powerhead so I have nothing to compare the flow rate to. Anyone here ever used one of these?

I would personally take it back. every powerhead anf internal filter i have bought has said on it what it says on the box. if they dont match that would make me wonder if someone had tampered with this product.

I got it shipped from kensfish, he's pretty reputable so I don't think it's been tampered with. I did try measuring the flow with a bucket though...if my bucket is 4.3 gallons(measured by pouring in 11, 1.5 liter bottles of water), then the flow rate is only 281gph. If I measured the bucket volume wrong and it's actually a 5 gallon bucket, then it's 327 gph =\
1000 liters converted to gallons is 264 gph.
Maybe I should email ken about it

i would email detailing your concerns. it is pretty odd that the box and powerhead label are different.

Yeah I sent him and email, told him how I tested it in a bucket and it's definitely less than 550gph. He sent me a reply about how head pressure lowers flow. I sent second email and told him I was pumping downwards from the sink to a bucket on the floor so there wasn't any head pressure...not getting a reply, doesn't look like great customer service to me =\

i did wonder if they would try and use head height as an excuse, stick to your guns or just demand a refund because the pump obviously isnt what it was sold as and go elsewhere.

This one is different, CAP, not CA. On the instruction sheet it said "coolie aquatics pump," but google does not show any results. The ONLY place that I found reviews on this product was on cichlid-forum, and surprisingly it was the highest rated out of all the powerheads included on the site. I emailed pro clear aquatics(different person from the seller) about it because I thought they were the manufacturer, but have gotten no reply.

Yeah he replied within a few minutes about head height, but after 2 days he still hasn't responded to my second email about how there is no head height... Just avoiding me now =\

Going to wait an extra day since it's weekend and then I'm sending more emails..
