My jebao crapped out on me (different thread) and it doesn't look like the company will replace. I am trying to decide if I should buy another one or not. The current setup is a 180g with 3 AC110s. Because the filters are spread there is lots of surface movement and aeration throughout. I already noticed that the powerhead made sure more debris went into the filters.

If I should get a powerhead any recommendations on something other than Jebao? I had the rw-15 which i think is replaced by the pp-15 now. It had tons of flow (max of like 5,000 gph but had it tuned to about 2,000 gph) and it was a wide "beam" of flow versus very direct.

I used to keep a small powerhead for a month but decided I would just dial in my flow to the perfect area where I would get no dead spots. You might want to play with the flow where you're pointing it to.

Since the PH died I am just trying to decide if I should even bother getting another one. I have decide flow and filtration, plus my tank is bare bottom so it is extremely easy to see and clean any debris.

I use cheap powerheads. I've got them from ebay like 8 years ago and still going strong. I use them for water changes only now since its much quicker waiting for it to gravity feed.
