I currently use a AC powerhead 70 on my tank but I can hear the thing running when i place my ear on the thick acrylic.
Wouldn't the constant noise stress the fish out?

Where is the minimum water line? I think I lowered the waterlevel a little too low and maybe damaged something?? The water was still above the output though

currents of the ocean make noise too... that doesnt affect the fish... no ur powerhead noise shouldnt matter.. but if it bothers u.. aim it down a lil bit as the surface agitation might be the noise problem but know that less agitation at surface is less less oxygen exchange

If it's not the surface agitation noise, try turning the pumps pressure up a little bit i know that mine will hum if it's turned down to low (my oscar loves playing with the lever). Hope that helps you out!

the surface aggitation doesn't make any noise; i understand that fish can handle "trickles, splashes" but i'm pretty sure no fish will have to deal with a motor noise 24/7(unless it's a bass fishing lake with boats..)

what do you mean by pump pressure? i have it switched to forward which gives off the strongest blow.

can you hear the powerhead 70 running?

Perhaps your impeller is misaligned or there is an air bubble trapped in the chamber.

i don't think so; it's brand new and i kept it really good.
i just never know if it's a normal sound or not.

can you hear your powerhead 70's when you place your ear to the tank?(a humming sound)
the air tubing is really loud though
