Powerhead Question

hey guys.....

so most powerheads have a chamber zone on the top portion which has absolutely nothing in it when you take off the top.....

well, my top fell off - and it doesn't go back on tight - resulting in rattling that is just plain noisy....

is it ok to just leave it off and have the chamber zone exposed?

there are absolutely no parts or anything in there....

anyone know what i am talking about?

can you take a picture of which kind of powerhead you are talking about?

my guess is it is a chamber for water for whatever reason....keep it from floating?

i know exactly what you are talking about. i see no reason why you cant leave it off, the motor is sealed in there with epoxy....just leave it off.
