Two cichlids sucked right up into the intake. I'm an idiot and had the powerhead on WAY to powerful.

more details please? i perfer lots of water movement in my tanks and i don't want this to happen, was it possible that they where already sick and too weak to swim away?

what type of power head are/where you using?
also what size where the fish?

Im all about current but never seen one get sucked up, let us know.

i got two sucked up too. one was realy powerfull, i tool the foam off for cleaning, and when i came back i put it back on and noticed there was no flow, so i figured that a leef got stuck ing the impeller, i took the powerhead out and pulled it apart amd inside was a half of a ground up cichlid, it was one of my red zebras, only 1 1/2" long.... well 3/4" long by the time i pulled it out. umm oops

your n00bs for not putting the strainer on like your suppose too.

sorry for the loss

Of course, but with big fish it happens that now and then someone kicks the stariner out of place....happens more than once.

Guys I have had an enormous Bichir sucked up..nothing to do. Learn from the mistake..

shouldnt come off that easily, a strainer should fit snug, i have a hard time taking it off during maintence.

what you think i have mollies?
