so right now i have 100g with an eheim 2217 and a penguin bioo wheel 150. i want to add more but im debating on a powerhead or a new filter. you guys have any advice? im sure a filter would be the way to go and looking at getting a magnum 350 if i buy a filter. does anyone have experience with these or comments about them. thanks for the help

Go with a filter. Power heads are better for water movement, although they can be used to filter.

not sure about the Magnum 350s, never used one.

what type of fish do you keep? If you have fish that like fast moving water go ahead and buy a power head and add a sponge to it to get water movement and filtration. If you have fish that don't like, or need fast moving water go ahead and get another canister or H.O.B filter, that is what I would do anyways. BTW magnum 350 a great for polishing water especially when you use it with the micron filter.

the good old mag 350 i have one its a few years old it just doesnt stop i think there indestructable they have many uses straight carbon, or all bio media, they have a pleated micron filter for water polishing or you can fill them with diatom pwder wich i do every once and awhile and and use it on my tanks to polish the water
it runs constantly on my rbp tank packed with bio media never had a issue with it
i think every one should have one (read above) and on top of every reason i love mine there is zero bypass

i have two 4 in mono pbass so you think the power head would be smarter?

I don't know much about pbass but if they don't require strong currents of water to be happy, then YES it is smarter to buy another filter considering the fact that pbass get pretty big and the bigger they are the bigger the poop.
