i have a FH all by him self in a 50g
i also have a maxi jet form my saltwater that i never got to use
should i put it on my 50g, as like a fun little wave?

worst thing would be to try it, and see if your fish like it.
nothing wrong with more gas exchange too, promoted by the waves.
