hey guys I was just wondering what does a powerhead with no sponge or filter on do for the water???I know it pushes the water making a current...what is it's purpose and what good does it do fo the FH?

no point for a flowerhorn really, more for high current fish, and reefs

actually bro, they help to keep the bottom of bare bottom tanks clean. They stir up all the debris to be grabbed up by the filter. Used at the surface they will oxygenate the water more than just a filter or an airstone.
