I'm setting up my 300 gallons tank 8ft by 30" by 30". And I wonder that what kind of powerhead I should use for my tank? How many wat, how many pieces of powerhead for circel my tank.
Thank you.

It all depends on what kind of circulation you want, what kind of fish, do they like fast water or calm, how much you are willing to spend...
The prop style powerheads are the most efficient and quiet, but all they do is circulate water. The pump style can be used to introduce air into the discharge aerating the tank....not so quiet...but generally cheaper..
The prop style magnetic drive powerheads operate outside the tank with only the propeler inside the tank...no heat transfer and usually very ADJUSTABLE flow wise...super quiet...very expensive.
Without more info, a targeted solution can't be made.

Thank for your advice.
My fish is 1 arowana, 2 armatus, and 2 rays right now, will have 2 more rays soon. I keep them in the 180 gallons now. I need ready before them growing out.
I can spend around $200 to $300.

http://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=...hird_Generation_2450_gph_Pump_p/RHY01151.htmf you are using a sump, I would recommend spending the money on a very good return pump. I use flow eductors that increase circulation in my tank by 400% over just a regular nozzle. I use Loc-line so I can position the eductors in my tank and they will actually move the sand around!
If that doesn't interest you, a couple Hydor Koralia powerheads would work very well. Prop style, suctioncup mount...

How about water pump. What should i go for water pump?
I thinking about 1hp water pump. It cost around $50 in vietnam and my dad can bring it to me next 2 weeks.
