just wondering, dude i was talkin to at lfs and he said that he puts a powerhead in desired tanke, connects the hose at the out put( I have no clue how he'd do this, but he never explained) then the water pulling intake I suppose shoots the water fast through the hose.. Is that a descent ideal, as i dont do sumps, I dont really have a pump to pull water out and i have low water pressure down in the fish room, so it tanks a bit to suck the water out

I have heard of people using powerheads, or canisters, to drain their tanks. Considering my python flows about 100gph (takes an hour to do a 50% drain on my 200g) you can get a 400gph powerhead for $50 and bring that hour job to 15 minutes.

I personally don't mind the wait, although my wife/roomates hate it when I tie up the bathroom sink for that long :)

i have a 350, that came with a tank i got off of CL, alright, does the hose hook up that easy to powerhead or do you have to just hold it. I was lucky enough to find a house with a downstairs bathroom next to fish room
