Why do you want to add one?

Perhaps he has fish who like fast flowing waters??

In the 55 gallon anywhere between 150 gph and 250 gph would be fine depending on how much flow you want.

A 90-150 gallon powerhead would be fine for a 30 gallon depending on the desired flow.

thanks cuz right now i have 2 penguin 550 power heads in my 55 and since i am setting up my 29gall tank i figured i will use the power heads from my tank since they r only 145gph and put bigger ones in the 55gallon cuz it doesnt seem like the 550s r doing that much
in my 55 i have rbps and they some times like to swim in the current that the powerhead makes and also i figure it builds up their muscles in a way

I would recommend not buying a powerhead. you can buy AC filters for the same amount of money and they flow ALOT unless you have fish with special needs you wont need any more. Too much flow is not natural for most fish and therefore I would assume not the best for your fish.
