Not directly related to marine but you guys have the kit I need opinions on and no one is replying on general discussion.

So, I need a powerhead for my 100 gallon tank is it has too many dead spots.

What are you guys using and would recommend?

I had a 1200LPH maxijet in my old 50 gal it was okay but not that powerful.

Would 2000LPH be too powerful?

Opinions please soon as I want to get one for my birthday!

Thanks

I have several Koralia 1200 gph, and have used one on a 4x2x2 (120 gallon), in FW setup and it didn't seem like too much.

I would do 2 Koralia's, one at each end. I have one 750gph in my 30g and have virtually no dead spots. Just point them in oppsing corners and you'll be set

I have a 125 reef with four 4 powerheads 2 koralia magnum 5 and 2 koralia 1400, its funny to wacth the turbo snails struggle to hang on :) I dont know how much flow you want but the mag 5 does like 3000gph it is a little pricey but I am a fan of the koralia brand

It is hard to have too much flow.

Koralias are a good choice, much more spread out than the maxi's.

Just get what you think your fish will like to swim in. If your fish like calm water, you are going to have to buy more small powerheads, whereas if your fish like moving water you can get a couple big ones instead probably.
