I tried this in the Other Monster Fish forum and didn't get any good results on what to stock my 125 with. So all you Pike-aholics STOCK MY TANK!!!!

I want lots of color and/or unique markings. Post pics of what I should get along with sp. type!!!! PS the 125 is just a growout for them. I'm gettin a 265 or 300 when Uncle Sam pays me!;)

will there be tankmates? are you looking for a single pike or multiple? how sure are you about the bigger tank? what are you looking to spend? there are tons of choices/ combos it really depends on what you like and what you are willing to do to make it work. what are some pikes you are interested in?

I will start off with just pike and add tankmates if i think they will work.
single or multiple, either is fine, although breeding some would be a plus.
I am 99.9% sure on the bigger tank unless i fall deathly ill.
money isn't a prob. within reason, not gonna spend a house payment on something.
I really like the color of the Atabapo.

if you really like the atabapo, then i would go for them. start with a nice group of 3-4 if you can find them and hope for two that get along. when the bigger tank is up and running add whatever other fish you want in there, wait a week or so, then transfer the pikes. subtract fish as is necessary. should be a real nice setup. some good alternative pikes would be sp. cobra, marmorata, lenticulata, cincta, red cheeked lubrigus. the cobras will be the easiest to get your hands on, and the females are gorgeous. good luck and take plenty of pics.

Thanks Taz and Saltydog!

Does the adult cobra male have the red colors like the females? Rapps had a nice pick of a female.

I seen Rapps has some marmorata 9-10" for $125

You guys know anybody with the ones you listed for sale? The only time I've seen the Atabapo for sale were the 12" pair that H2O Custom Aquatics had. I know Ken has some Cobras for sale too.

I have 8, 4" cobras @ $35 and about 30, 4" saxatalis (gold spangled type) for $12 and one monster female cobra at 12"+ for $125. I think pikes do better crowded as I never have trouble with tanks full of fish until I sell down to the last 3-4 fish and then the fighting starts. Ken

LMAO Ken!:) I was just about to post a thread in your vendor forum and ask you what you had left. Can you get any Atabapo, Lents or Marmorata. Smaller the better. Also still want some Geo Redheads.
