Praziquantel shouldn’t hurt the filtration.
You will want to remove any kind of chemical filtration like carbon.
Turn off UV during treatment, if you use it.
UV can interfere with some medications.

But it never hurts to keep your filtration system clean of detritus.

thanks, I'm not really sure what I'm dealing with but there is something weird in my ray tank.
my dat flashed when i added him a few months back. i also lost a king kong parrot in this tank ,which the parrot ended up gasping for air.
now the dat seems to be doing the same thing :( cant think of anything else except flukes?

any ideas?

Are you using 100 % prazi or an over the counter mix?

If you are using 100% here's something to consider, but crazy risky.

If you're using 100% lab grade you may want to read up on cutting it with alcohol since prazi by itself isn't really water soluble.

It's only to be tried if an individual does the due diligence for the correct measurements( which I will not provide in this response because I refuse to be responsible for anyone bombing there beloved tank incorrectly, but i did place a link below). I've done this with discus and it has worked quite well, but it can cause serious new tank syndrome if not careful.

Here's a paper that may or may not help for general information regarding one way this strategy worked. However, I haven't been able to try it on every fish and won't so I will not claim that this as a fix all . However it works in extreme case where the medication can be effective.. just thought its cool info to share that some are aware of, but not all.
