Pre-Christmas Gift to myself: Datnioides Polota

Hi guys,

I have been wanting to get some Datnoids for quite some time now.

Although D. Polota's count as "native" in India, they are not easily available. And when these are available in gaps of several months, the stocks sell out in a day or two.. (I don't know why these are rare in Bombay's pet market.)

Anywho... Just got me half a dozen of these beauties..

As you can see, some of them are more "stable" than others.. I am just glad they are all eating.

The video is of their first (and as of now, only) meal in my tank. I have started with live blood-worms. I hope to move them to freeze-dried blood worms and eventually to pellets.

Thanks guys.

They are about 2-2.5 inches right now. How long before they reach 6-7 inches?

(Once they are large enough not to be eaten, I am considering putting them in a 220 Gal tank with a 2 ft Silver Aro and (if compatible) a couple of 1 ft FL Gars.)
