pre spawning behaviour? (oscars)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks like it to me. If they don't get down to bussiness soon (with in a couple days) do a large warm water change, that somtimes get things moving.

thanks, although I`m a little worried as they seem to be behaving more aggressive with each other now? one has bitten some side scales off of the other, and the lip "locking" has got more violent.

sometimes when they are moved the bond is broken ,they should settle down after a few days if they were together before.

yeah I had read that, they do seem to be displaying breeding behaviour....and they also seem to be being a little less "violent" towards each other today, fingers crossed they are just re-establishing their bond...as on the whole they are pretty much inseperable bless em!

+1 this just happened to my calico convict pair. I moved them to upgrade but my dyi overflow was sucking up fry so I moved them back and now they being a little aggressive and acting similar to op's oscars.

It's all part of the courtship behavior. I had one oscar back in the day that had a ripped bottom lip from liplocking with its mate..........
