So I got this free fishtank it has a sump built in and the return is set to push out on front wall. I would like to create a styro background however this will block the return. My question is can I set the return to a center tank sandfall, and will this become a con for tank filtration

The return is what seems to be a new rendition there was a previous return on top, but they changed to a bottom tank return with what seems to be a spray bar in the sump wall. I plan to get rid of it and if needed just put it back at the top where it was before. However, what I wanted to try instead of running to two water pumps keep it with just the one and have it run to the water fall as seen in video below I just don't know the effects it will have on the circulation of the tank
