Hi, my Oscar Fish has recently passed and was looking for a new predator fish just like the oscar where it eats live fish, worms and can just rip things apart. It's also really good because it doesn't get too big. I have a 55 gallon and was wondering what predator should I put in my tank. I was thinking Tiger Shovelnose Catfish whats your thoughts on fish are I should get.

Yes, but fish are smart enough to adapt so they grow less. So my oscar was only 10 inches many people say put it in like a 120 gallon but you have to realize that's stupid
You know it’s not the fish being smart and making itself stay smaller bc of its environment right???.....

It’s the fishes body response to a build up of chemicals in the too small of a tank and that causes the fish to become stunted, which in the long term isn’t good for the fish.

if you think it’s stupid to have an appropriate enclosure for the fish you want to keep do you also think it’s stupid to do appropriate water changes to maintain a healthy tank?

how long did you Oscar live? 8 month’s?
