Hey guys, I'm just realised that I only have 2 predator haps species, Malawi Eye Biter and Venustus. So I'm curious if any of you guys could give me some other interesting predator haps? I'd be really grateful if you could give me some interesting fact or any unique behaviour exclusive to that species of fish only.

Second question, in the lake Malawi. There are 3 types of cichlids, mbuna, peacock and hap. Mbuna is generally the most aggressive, right? Just to be sure.

My favorite predator Hap is the Nimbochomis Fusco. Here's a pic of the best one I kept.

Mbuna are usually much smaller than predator Haps. The males are usually territorial aggressive against conspecific males.

Mbuna aren't aggressive torwards the larger predator Haps. They would end up being lunch.

In addition there are also Tilapines in Lake Malawi.
I like the Blue dolphin, Malawi Gar, Malawi Hawk & Buccochromis rhoadesii

Fossorochromis rostratus is one of favorites, that's one that I used to have in my avatar. There's also buccochromis, rhamphochromis, and exochochromis. All nice fish that get big. I've had luck in the past also having multiple species of nimbochromis and dimidiochromis together without issues.

How large is your tank? I agree with the rostratus, but they really need space. In my 7ft tank they use every inch, but a great fish to have since they look different (they get left alone and generally leave other alone).

My wild fosso male. He was about 14 inches when he died.RIP 🪦
These guys are unique because when they’re hiding from danger, they will dive whole body underneath the sand. This behavior is where this name Malawi sand diver comes from.
