Hello everyone I am interested in setting up my 100 gallon tank as a predator tank. So I would like to know if I could put these fish together
1. clown or blue line trigger
2. blue line or miniatus grouper
3. stars and stripes or porcupine puffer
4. snowflake eel
5. and maybe a gold stripe maroon clownfish
I have read that gold stripe maroon clownfish can be agressive so if I put him in my tank first then the puffer, then eel, then grouper, then trigger would this work?

the clown fish will wind up lunch the eel may not be able to compete against a the trigger and grouper and im still up in the air about the puffer. i say trigger and grouper good combo or puffer eel and maroon clownfish good combo stranger combo's have worked but i highly doubt that it will work for very long. possibly work for a while till everyone starts to mature and the size differances change drasticly

........waits to see what the canuck will say.

First off...What are you going for with your tank? With 2 exceptions, the fish you list are all relatively non aggressive. The two exceptions being the clown trigger - which is a known fin nipper and can be aggressive and the stars and stripes puffer - which is fairly aggressive (also a fin nipper). Even the 2 noted fish are nothing that should concern you.

Second, I am sure you realize that all fish have different personalities. Although certain fish are known for their disposition, every fish is different. Case in point, I have owned many Gold Stripe maroons over the years. While they have all stood their ground against other fish, I have never had one that actively went after other fish until my current one...he even goes after me and "bites' me.

If you are trying to figure out if they fish will work together...it will depend on the size of your tank and the individual fish, but there should be no problem.

Personally, I would get a Louti grouper instead of a Minatus...much better personality and the one I owned was always out in the open. I would also probably go for a Tesslata moray but note they are very aggressive piscevores (or a zebra if you want more docile eel).

Way overstocked... the grouper and triggers alone will outgrow that tank.
