PREDATORY KOI??

i have mosquito fish that i feed most of my fish. my koi is the only one that would naturally eat pellets rite? well i kid you not my koi does not eat anything thats not moving! he will chase down the feeder fish and completely devour them! he is absolutely the most wierd fish i have ever had. is that normal??

It's normal, goldfish, carp and koi will eat smaller fish. I've heard common carps started to feeding on round gobies in Great Lakes.

yep.. I've got 3 lake erie perch and a black crappie in my Koi pond. I put a dip of emarald shiners( roughly 50) in periodocly to feed them, and the Koi devour them just as fast.

wow thats cool! iv'e never heard of any other koi doing that. all the people i know just feed them pellets.

koi's pretty much eat anything. moving or not. they like to suck anything into there mouth and taste things. if they like it they eat it.if not they will spit it out. if it fits in there mouth they will try it out.
