I have noticed in several threads that people tend to use the terms predatory and aggressive interchangably and IMO they are not. It makes it hard to answer questions without asking for clarification of terms.
Predators eat other fish/live foods, but aren't always aggressive. Marbled gobies and most piranha fall into this group, they will mostly ignore other fish until they eat them.
Aggresive fish like dovis, puffers, and bluegill will often harass, bully, or even kill other fish even if not trying to eat them. Some types like bettas are mainly aggressive against their own kind.
And some fish are both, snakeheads, wolf fish, and bowfins spring to mind, some of these will both bully fish and eat eat them as well.
So to help out those like me I'm asking people to please define your terms when asking about aggression, it just makes it easier to give a correct answer.

nicely put

Yeah i'm sure we can do that.

I think all fish can be aggresive obviously some more than others like you mentioned the marble gobie and piranhas i have kept both fish and have found them to be quite placid but when i added 2 golden severums in with the Gobie he was an evil little bastard so i had to remove him the piranhas they are just scared of everything the only time i ever seen them get agressive was at feeding times.

The marbled gobie I had barely moved. It would ignore anything I put in there until it was hungry, which seemed to be every hour or so, them it would just suck in whatever else was in the tank. No aggression at all, heheh. It did however consider everything as food.
