How do you know if a pirahna is rbp is pregnant? my friend has 3 rbp's in his tank...1 of them is unusually hefty near its stomach area and seems to concentrate on 1 spot of the tank under a rock shelf and just keeps doing 360's as if she's trying to keep the other caribe from coming near their..the only other fish she lets in their is 1 of the other 2 rbp's. would pictures help to figure out of it is pregnant or not..and if she is...would it be better to tank it out of the tank or leave it in their?

definitely sounds like typical pregnant fish behavior

Nope, piranha will never become pregnant. Gravid maybe. Are any males showing signs of interest?

ya she 1 that seems pregnant only lets 1 specific 1 near where she chills out near...all of the other 1's she kinda bumps out

what tank side is it in? and how big are they?

As for me when piranha doing 360 meaning the are "flashing" they are trying to scrath them self with the gravel. some thing is bothering them, bad water parameter, etc...

or

breeding sign as bright dark black color, diggy gravel, aggressive, etc...

let us know.

Egglayers do not become pregnant, they are simply filled with eggs. All it takes is a breeding session to expel them and become fertilized.

its not really all that dark...1 of them is extremely dark colored for an rbp...this 1 in particular just has a huge belly

possibility

breedign behaviour is
pairing off
chasing others out of territory
darker breeding pair colouration
digging/blowing pit
fat female...

when in breeding mode the pair will turn black with practically no clour showing other then reflective scales like on "diamond piranhas"
