Pregnant?

I just got this molly about 2 weeks ago and noticed after bringing her home she was really big...im pretty sure shes pregnant but i would like more information please...can you tell how far along she is or when she will give birth...i would like to know so i can seperate her so the babies will live . Also up to how many babies can mollys have? Any information and tips would be very nice. Thank you.

Looks pretty pregnant. I would say within the next week, If not less, she'll drop 'em. In the meanwhile give her her own 10G tank densly planted (Live plants will be better), lots of rockwork and dim lighting most of the time.

Unlike guppies which have been recorded many a time to have over 100 fry, mollie fry are much larger than guppies thus there are fewer of them. Mine averaged 30-40 per large female. Yours might have anything from 15-35.
