ok ive got an idea doubt seriously i will be able to do it but im puting the idea out for you other experienced fish keepers to try ok imagine a large tank containing alot of prehistoric fish i was thinking GARS ,PADDLEFISH ,STERGEON ,PACU ,PLECOSTUMUS ,REDTAILCATFISH ARIPAMA and maybe some STINGRAYS
and AROWANAS and maybe a turtle like a MATA MATA or a SNAPPER

so would this work and can any one do it or already has if you have done something similar post pics please

well stingrays aren't very prehistoric. Mata mata and snapper would eat your fish, regardless of size. Sturgeon need cool water temps, and probably so do paddlefish... not to mention the general cost and problems with their specific care needs.
Other than your gar and arapima/arowana, not much is prehistoric.
I've seen prehistoric tanks with arowana, different gar species, bichirs, lungfish and knifefish if they aren't too bullyish. These are your "prehistoric" fish.

But if you want the fish mentioned and have X0 000 gallon tank... all but the paddlefish, sturgeon and turtles would work.

thanks i wasnt planning on doing this myself its way over my head but when i say prehistoric tank i mean a tank with fish that look prehistoric or really are i seen something similar oone time it had paddle fish huge lungfish snake heads aripama arrowana pacu and a caimen and river turtle i know this was probably a death ring but it looked cool but i would never risk my fish because "it looks cool"

Sounds sensible...
What you described sounds like an odd combination... was it at an aquarium?

i bet that was very amazing
the rarest collection of the preistoric monster..
maybe you can add arowana especially silver one..
:nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly:

it sounds like a cool idea, but it wouldn't work too well with all the varied needs....it would look awesome though...lol....i know you aren't gonna build it(now) but if you do ever decide to do something like this, when you feel it is not over your head, i'd put in a lot of research and find fish that are or look prehistoric that need similar temps and stuff....
fun to daydream though isn't it? that's where it all begins

yea what davo said... dont forget the old bowfin too!!!!

new idea on it have a few seperate tanks side by side use some decoration to cover up the spaces in between to give the illusion that all these fish are in the same tank and it was at a petstore in the display tank that i seen a similar tank
