haha curious about the title? well i put my first mouse in my p tank not being sure if was too early (6 ps about 3 to 5 inches). they have good appetite do so i tried but they were scared like i never saw them (swimming in ever directions as fast as they could). i tried to close da lights, n they became less affraid but still were stayin away from the pretty good swimmer that a mouse is. i finally froze the mouse n gave it to them da day after n they ate it while i wasnt there. i was wondering if i should have give them some beef of any red meat weeks before the mouse, just so they taste blood...kinda preliminaries before da big chunk ...mouhahah
is there anybody who had da same kinda problem with their first mouse?
maybe they're just too young....

my guess is that there to small, when larger they should gobble it down no prob

The 3 inchers were too small, but the 5 inchers should have been good on the kill I recon. You have to remember, unless piranhas are absolutely starving, they normally do not attack a healthy creature, especially mammals. Either risk starving the piranhas for two or three days, or damage the mouse as humanely as possible. When I say damage, I mean poke a small puncture into it so blood makes its way into the water. People will have mixed reactions over this … so do as you feel best.

I am not asking for a debate over the humanity of poking a mammal or fish ladies and gentlemen.

they've been starving for 3 days n we cut just a lil the mouse. smellin blood seemed to help them get excited but not enough to attack. by the way, a mouse is damm tough. never complained when cut or acted differently...i felt bad at first but when i saw the non-reaction, its been a bit better. dont want to get into a humanistic debate neither but anywaz...

yep guess it was too late. also i had to remove my gravel and drift wood from da tank so i guess it was not the best time to introduce somthing new in there....

well, i'll have a quality show, ill put on video n let you see it for sure!

oh how much I have to learn! :nilly: so you can feed piranhas mice? is that full grown or the pink babies? I have no trouble raising mice for food. I have to say in reading through all the forum discussions, I am thrilled there haven't been any (that I've seen yet) comments about how awful people are to feed things to other things and enjoy it. :naughty: at any rate, I have learned a lot of useful things between this and my other studies and am *almost* ready to upgrade to piranhas from my current community and semi agressives.....:newbie:weeeeee!
