i recently got a 10-12" mono on trade and it seems to only be eatting live food. is it possible to get it off live this late? i have had some 6" bass that almost starved from the change off live and they never gave in. i did and sold them.

Try offering it peeled raw shrimp or strips of tilapia. Easier to convert it to those than pellets straight off the bat. Once it starts taking those you can start stuffing pellets into them and go from there.
