Preparing the Wood!!!

I got a piece of wood out of the creek behind my house....it is about 4ft long with holes and what not ..lol. What do I need to do to prepare this wood for my tank? I heard i needed to soak it in bleach and warm water for a long period of time. I have already scrubbed it down with water and brush . Any other thing that needs to be done and is the water and bleach thing true?

i wouldnt bleach it, you might change the color of the wood....if possible i would boil the heck out of it.

if you cant boil it let me soak in water for a couple of days, this way the color will leak out in the water and not your tank.

I let mine soak in very hot water for 4 hours, then repeat. I have never had a problem with discoloration.
