Hopefully anyway. Im currently not sure if its going to work out.
I got this tank for $300 on craigs list so i have no idea who made it.
I read that if the glass is polarized it is tempered. I got some fine polarized shades from walmart ($9.95). And it seems that the walls of the tank are slightly polarized.
ACTUALLY im a bit confused by this. The glass doesnt have swirls or patterns in it, but it seems to get uniformly darker when i rotate my sharp new glasses.
Is this the nail in the coffin for my sump?
Not sure if this is proof of tempering or not but if it is im not sure if i can still do a sump for the following reasons:
HOB overflows seem like a ripoff, they are ugly, and i would need a massive one for a 200g tank.
Are there other overflow options?
Im looking into drilling tempered glass. I guess I can have a glass company do it, but unfortunatly they are all closed, but if anyone has a reference or quote for someone in AZ let me know.
Any thoughts?
thanks
