Id like to preserve my 12" Silver Aro in a jar,

Does anybody do this, or know any good ways to go about doing this?

Everything I look up just says to submerse the subject in 70% alcohol...

That really is all it takes. I have never preserved a fish but i have done other things. I just mix about 75% alcohol and 25% water and then just seal the jar. Good luck!

You'll want to use the highest percentage of isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) that you can get. Be sure get twice as much alcohol as you'll need to fill the jar with the arowana in it because you'll need to replace the alcohol after a month or so due to discoloration; there should be no further major discoloration of the alcohol after replacing it once.

Aye. I remember pouring formalin in a jar for a dead swordtail when I was in high school. Big mistake doing it inside a poorly ventilated lab. Next thing I knew I was gasping for breath and many wondered why I crawled on four out of the lab trying to get air.

I would suggest formalin...but make sure you have good ventilation when your pouring it. It was what we used to preserve different tissue samples at the vet hospital.
