Preserving Filter Sponges

I have 3 AC50 sponges that were being used on a 30g tank, but I dont have that setup anymore. I would like to preserve them so they keep all of the good bacteria. What would be the best way to go about doing this?

Keep them in a sump of a tank thats in use.You have to keep them wet with circulating water and bioload to keep the bacteria alive.
