i had just purchased a pressure flow 1400 and if any one has ever had one i can not get the cleaning handles to move up and down with out a lot of force. i have only tried this on a dry test. i called tech support today and she had told me that the cleaning blade are designed to scrape on the filter media to help remove excess waste. the problem is is that i am really forcing the cleaning handles to get them to move and when i place the filter to where i want to position it which is waste level i can hardly get them to move. tech support told me that i was the only person to complain about this product and if there was a problem with this then it would have never reach the market.so i asked her if a customer was not satisfied with this product that they do not warranty costumer satisfactory. she said this was correct and maybe the retailer would return the product. well he does"t want it because i had to special order it and hagen deals with retailers direct now and not threw there wholesaler. has any one ever dealt with one of these filters and experienced the same problem. yet alone deal with such poor customer service with hagen. not too happy with hagen

The backflush valves on all of the Laguna line of pond filters are a bit on the stiff side. They get better with time.

Custmer servace people....Tech lines all have one thing in common....people.
Your talking about average working shmoos dealing with nothing but ticked off people all day on the phone. Usually with issues that can be answered in the instruction manual.

Not really an excuse for rude treatment on the phone, mind you, but a way of understanding it.

the thing is is that i can hardly move them especially when the filter is above waste level. dose this work considerably better when wet? i do not want to fill it with water and make my fight even more difficult to return because now it would be considered used

it works better when wet and you can also spray a light coating of PAM cooking spray on the internal parts. I use it on all O-rings to preserve them and help with sealing.
