I was wondering what type of pressure regulators most of you use for your drip system setups. I know that you want a regulator that gets the water pressure down around 25 psi. All of the regulators I have found state that they aren't to be used under constant water pressure. I recently set up a drip system in which I tapped into the water line in the crawl space under my house. My pressure regulator will be in the crawl space where I added a water line to run to my tank. I am concerned that my regulator will fail (leak, break, etc.) under the constant pressure. With the regulator being in an area where I won't be able to keep an eye on it, it could easily leak for a month before I caught it. For those of you that have had a drip system set up for a while, have any of you had a regulator that started leaking? The regulator I am using is from Hendrickson and is the type that Rainbird includes in their drip kits. Any advice or experiences would be appreciated.

I have been using the rainbird 25psi pressure regulator similar to this for over a year with no issues.

Here is what I use.

They cost about 35.00 but they are for constant use and are ment to be used for many years.

They have internal threads, I just use PVC with thread tape.

I'm just using a ball valve turned down for a weaker flow. Works fine. It's been that way for many months with no problems. Almost a year I think. When I first set up my drip system, I had a plastic pressure regulator. It cracked and started leaking, so I trashed it. Using the ball valve, I don't really need it.
